History

Chipola Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, was organized October 22, 1958, in Marianna, Florida.  Eleanor Grimes Campbell was the organizing regent.  Chipola was chosen as the chapter's name because the twenty-four chapter members lived in the historic Chipola River Valley and the surrounding area.

Today there are over fifty members in the chapter.  Programs and projects for youth are promoted in the counties of Calhoun, Gadsden, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, and Washington.  See our activities page for specific programs.  Chipola Daughters continue to work toward fulfilling the DAR objectives of preserving heritage, promoting education, and patriotism.  Girls and boys in the area are excited about the Children of the American Revolution Society that was organized in 2003.  Tri-State Chapter, National Society Sons of the American Revolution, is joining Chipola Chapter, NSDAR, to sponsor the new local society for children called the Blue Springs Society.
